The Meeting at Cairo – Oct 28-29

Farouq Wael, professor at the American University of Cairo and Vice-president of the Cairo Meeting declares: “Difference is the foundation of dialogue, because the elimination of diversity in order to dialogue with the other is not less aberrant than the elimination of the other because of his diversity. The most important goal of this Meeting, and perhaps its peculiarity, is the creation of a working space shared by people who belong to different cultures, civilizations, and religions. Only dialogue through shared work can lead us from an illusory communion in the faith to a real communion of life.”
